Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They are a binding agreement between you and the Company.

Plain-English summary (not a substitute for the full Terms below): Protest Co-Pilot is a $19 do-it-yourself tool that helps you prepare your own property tax protest. It is not legal or tax advice, and we do not guarantee any specific tax reduction. Purchases are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, and are final. You may use the product for your own property. Texas law governs these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website at protesttool.com (the "Site") and the Protest Co-Pilot product and related materials (together, the "Service"). By accessing the Site, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who we are

The Service is operated by [LEGAL LLC NAME], a Texas limited liability company doing business as "Protest Co-Pilot" ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). You can reach us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

3. What the Service is

Protest Co-Pilot is a do-it-yourself preparation tool. It provides an AI prompt and supporting informational guidance designed to help homeowners organize evidence, identify comparable properties, and prepare materials to protest or appeal their own residential property tax assessment. The Service is informational and self-directed. We do not file anything on your behalf, do not represent you before any appraisal district, county, board, or government body, and do not act as your agent, lawyer, accountant, or tax representative.

4. Not legal, tax, or professional advice

Protest Co-Pilot is a do-it-yourself preparation tool. It is not legal advice, tax advice, or professional property-tax representation, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by any appraisal district, county, or government agency. Nothing in the Service creates an attorney-client, accountant-client, or other professional relationship. For advice about your specific situation, consult a qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction.

You are responsible for confirming your filing deadline, eligibility, and process with your local assessor or appraisal district. Deadlines vary by county and can change, and many are set relative to the date your assessment notice is mailed.

5. No guarantee of results

Results vary by property, comparable sales, and local market conditions, and no specific reduction or outcome is guaranteed. Any examples, figures, case studies, or testimonials (including the founder's own result) describe individual outcomes, are not typical, and are not a promise that you will achieve the same or any result. Outcomes depend on facts outside our control, including the accuracy of the information you provide and the decisions of your appraisal district or review board.

6. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for property owners in the United States preparing protests for their own property. You agree that all information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use it.

7. Purchases, pricing & Merchant of Record

The current price of the product is shown at checkout (US dollars). We may change pricing at any time, but changes do not affect completed purchases.

Lemon Squeezy is our Merchant of Record. This means that when you buy the product, your order is sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy, which handles payment, billing, and the collection and remittance of applicable sales taxes, and which may appear as the seller on your card or bank statement. Your purchase is also subject to Lemon Squeezy's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your full payment card details (see our Privacy Policy).

Upon successful payment, the product is delivered to you digitally. You are responsible for any device, internet access, or third-party AI tool needed to use it.

8. Refund policy

The product is a digital good that is delivered and accessible immediately upon purchase. Because of this, all sales are final and purchases are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or is issued at our sole discretion. Refund requests, where applicable, are processed through our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. If you believe your purchase qualifies for a refund required by law, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

9. License to use the product

Subject to these Terms and your payment, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the product to prepare property tax protests for property you own or for your own household. This license is for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not, and may not permit others to:

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including the prompt, the Site, text, graphics, logos, the "Protest Co-Pilot" name and brand, and all related content, is owned by the Company or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you. All rights reserved.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful purpose; to submit false information to any government body; to interfere with or disrupt the Site or its security; or to access the Service through automated means except standard search indexing. You are solely responsible for how you use the materials the Service helps you prepare.

12. Third-party services

The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including our Merchant of Record (Lemon Squeezy), third-party artificial-intelligence tools you choose to use with the prompt, analytics and advertising providers, and county or appraisal-district websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, their content, or their terms. Your use of any third-party AI tool is governed by that provider's terms, and you are responsible for any information you submit to it.

13. Your responsibilities

14. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR RESULT. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY AND ITS OWNERS, MEMBERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST SAVINGS, LOST PROFITS, OR INCREASED TAX LIABILITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its owners, members, and affiliates from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your submissions to any government body, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

17. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the exclusive venue for any dispute that is not subject to small-claims court will be the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there. Nothing in this section limits your rights under any mandatory consumer-protection law of your home jurisdiction.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be effective when posted, and your continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Service unlawfully. The sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
