Privacy Policy
The short version: We collect very little. To sell you the product we use Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor and Merchant of Record), which collects your email and payment details. To understand and advertise our Site we use Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which set cookies. Our savings calculator runs entirely in your browser, and we never receive the numbers you type into it. You have choices and rights, described below.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how [LEGAL LLC NAME], doing business as "Protest Co-Pilot" ("Company," "we," "us"), handles information in connection with the website at protesttool.com and our product (together, the "Service"). The Service is intended for users in the United States.
2. Who we are
We are the business responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
3. Information we collect
a. Information you provide
When you purchase, our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, collects the information needed to complete your order, which typically includes your name, email address, billing details, and country/region. If you choose to answer an optional post-purchase question (such as "How did you hear about us?"), we receive that answer. If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
b. Payment information
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. Card data is handled by Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors under their own terms and privacy policy.
c. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our analytics and advertising providers automatically collect standard technical and usage information, such as your IP address (often truncated/anonymized by analytics), device and browser type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, the marketing link (UTM) you arrived from, and general location inferred from IP. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
4. The savings calculator
The estimated-savings calculator on our Site runs entirely in your web browser. The figures you enter (such as market value, assessed value, and taxes) are processed locally on your device to show you an estimate and are not transmitted to or stored by us.
5. Cookies & tracking technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
| Provider | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 (Google) | Understand how visitors use the Site (pages, traffic sources, conversions) so we can improve it. | Analytics |
| Meta Pixel (Meta / Facebook) | Measure the performance of our ads and show relevant ads to people who visited the Site (retargeting). | Advertising |
| Lemon Squeezy | Process your order and operate the checkout securely. | Essential |
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of certain advertising and analytics:
- Google Analytics opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Meta ad preferences: in your Facebook/Instagram settings under Ads
- Industry opt-out tools: optout.aboutads.info (DAA) and optout.networkadvertising.org (NAI)
6. How we use information
- To provide, deliver, and support the product and operate the Site;
- To process your purchase through our Merchant of Record;
- To measure and improve the Site and our marketing;
- To advertise our product, including measuring ad performance and retargeting;
- To communicate with you about your purchase or support requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues; and
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who act on our behalf, including Lemon Squeezy (payments and Merchant of Record), Google (analytics), Meta (advertising), and our website host;
- For advertising, with Google and Meta as described in Section 8;
- Legal and safety reasons, such as to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights; and
- Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
8. "Selling" and "sharing" of personal information
We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. However, our use of advertising cookies (such as the Meta Pixel and Google advertising features) may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for "cross-context behavioral advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws, including California's. You have the right to opt out of this. To opt out, you can:
- use the cookie and advertising opt-outs in Section 5;
- enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser (see Section 14); or
- email us at [CONTACT EMAIL] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information."
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale"/"sharing" of your information. To make a request, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will verify your request (for example, by confirming the email associated with your purchase) and respond as required by law. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
10. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use and disclose it; request access to or a copy of it; request correction or deletion; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. The categories of personal information we may collect are identifiers (such as name, email, IP address), commercial information (such as purchase records), and internet/usage activity (such as Site interactions). We collect these from you, your device, and our analytics/advertising providers, for the purposes in Section 6. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a separate opt-out. To exercise any of these rights, use the methods in Sections 8 and 9.
11. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described here, including to provide the product, keep order and tax records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. Analytics and advertising providers retain data according to their own policies.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals; because there is no common standard, we do not respond to them. We do, where required by law, honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information for the browser that sends it.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes are effective when posted.
